According to Bild, Norwegian star Alexander Thelott has received a barrage of hate messages and even death threats after missing a crucial chance in the World Cup quarter-final against England.
The incident occurred in the 43rd minute. Norway launched a two-on-one counter-attack, and Thierry should have passed the ball to the onrushing Haaland, giving him a one-on-one opportunity. However, Thierry chose to shoot himself, which was blocked by England's Stones. Two minutes later, former Dortmund player Bellingham equalized for England. Ultimately, the "Three Lions" won 2-1 in extra time thanks to another goal from Bellingham.
After the match, a visibly dejected Thaler gave an interview in the mixed zone. Thaler said, "It was tough. Sometimes you wish you had handled things better.
