On July 13 local time, Kroos talked about England manager Tuchel in the "Kroos Brothers: World Cup Deep Dive" program.
When asked about England manager Thomas Tuchel's post-match criticism of the team's performance, Toni Kroos said, "Who else but the manager has the right to point out what the team did wrong, especially after he had already spent two minutes talking about how great the team's spirit was?"
Kroos continued, "Tuchel was absolutely right when he said they didn't play well after the game. You're facing Argentina now, and later you might face Spain or France. You can't win by luck again, nor can you rely solely on mental strength. You have a coach who is very good at knockout stages, and he has proven that in club football. I think Tuchel is really excellent; he knows how to develop a game plan against different opponents."
However, Kroos also understood Bellingham's feelings, saying, "I've played in Miami many times, and the playing environment there is one of the most unpleasant. If you've played 120 minutes there, you don't want to hear anything except that you played badly, especially after the team has ultimately advanced."
Kroos further stated: "I believe Tuchel knows how to manage his relationship with the team and when to criticize the players. He was absolutely right on the content level. England certainly didn't play a good game. If the internal relations within the team have become tense, and there is continued external pressure on the team, that's definitely not a good thing. But I've seen some videos and heard some player interviews in the past few weeks, and the situation is actually quite the opposite. I've heard some players explicitly praise Tuchel's way of speaking and his communication."
