According to L'Equipe, Senegalese Football Federation President Far revealed that the team doctor who accompanied the team during the World Cup was later discovered to be a gynecologist.

This team doctor had been with the Senegalese national team for 10 years. Just days after Papu Thio and his team were dismissed, new revelations emerged about internal problems within the Senegalese Football Federation.
At a press conference summarizing the team's performance at the 2026 World Cup, Senegalese Football Federation President Abdoulaye Far announced that Dr. Fidior, who has been with the national team for the past 10 years and has been involved in the World Cup campaign, "has received specialized training in gynecology."
Far told Senegalese media, "Actually, our main team doctor doesn't have the academic background to help the athletes. Dr. Fidior is a gynecologist, which I only found out later. The players don't agree with that."
Since being eliminated from the World Cup Round of 16 and losing 2-3 to Belgium in extra time, news of internal disorder within the Senegalese Football Federation has been constantly emerging, with details ranging from delegation organization and coaching staff operations to the Senegalese team's preparation conditions being exposed one after another.
