According to Argentina's Clarín newspaper, Molina has pledged to donate a champion's autographed jersey to the Falklands War Museum.
In an interview before training in Atlanta, Molina said, "My sister told me about it. She sent me the video, and then I tried to get the jersey. We haven't been able to get the jersey to them yet, but please rest assured, it will definitely be there."
The museum is operated by the Falklands War Veterans Center. In a video posted on their social media account, they stated: “Every time we walk through the museum, memories, sacrifices, comrades, and our history of defending the Argentine flag come to mind. We ask the great national team to grant us one wish: to have a jersey that represents us on the world stage and display it in our museum. It would be a bridge between the heroes of the Falklands and the world champions, a symbol of unity, pride, and love for the flag. It would be our greatest honor to have an Argentine national team jersey signed by all the champion members.”
The veterans featured in the video include Eduardo Javier Ojeda, Roma Aranka, Oswaldo Jorge Bassan, Juan Gregorio Larene, Jacinto Roberto Guenza, Bernardo Ferrero, Alberto Seferino Anté, Hector Alfredo Cruz Benicio, and Pedro Aclino Mamani, who served in different locations and positions during the 1982 Falklands War.
The veterans' center stated on social media that its sole objective is to "deepen the memory of the Falklands." A few days earlier, they also shared news of approval for a provincial education project that plans to conduct a series of lectures in city kindergartens to "plant the seeds of memory, respect, and love for sovereignty from childhood."
Now, the dreams of the "children of the Falkland Islands" have taken another step closer.
