A report by US media outlet Front Office Sports points out that Pulisic's commercial value has declined significantly after the US team's elimination in the World Cup Round of 16 .

The 27-year-old Pulisic suffered from injuries during the World Cup, starting three of the four games he played for the United States team and only providing one assist.

According to a report by Front Office Sports, advertising agencies that spent a lot of money hiring Pulisic as a marketing spokesperson before the World Cup are probably regretting their decision now, which could seriously affect the AC Milan star's future endorsement contracts.

FOS reporter Michael McCarthy wrote: "Unfortunately, Pulisic is the worst sports marketing case since the Reebok 'Dan & Dave' ad at the 1992 Summer Olympics. This could pose a serious challenge for Pulisic's team in securing corporate sponsorships ahead of the next World Cup."

"The problem for him is that after the US team's 1-4 defeat to Belgium last Monday, all the TV commercials featuring his image kept appearing all week."

"Another potential problem for Pulisic's marketing team is that while he has the skill on the field, he lacks personality off the field. Compared to football icons like Messi, Mbappe, Haaland, or Beckham, Pulisic doesn't have that appeal."

"He always gives the impression that he'd rather do other things, anything, just not want to be in front of the camera. Even in that Rocky-style Degree ad that supposedly tells his personal 'dream,' he looks passive and uninterested in everything. His lines are flat, almost like he's bored."

It is estimated that Pulisic earns about $20 million a year through endorsements, including sports brand Puma, Volkswagen, and Hershey's, the snack giant from his hometown.

In addition, he appeared in a Degree antiperspirant commercial, in which he said he wanted to create "a legend that people would look back on and say, 'This guy changed American football.'"

The advertisement continued to run even after the US team was eliminated.

By the time of the 2030 World Cup, Pulisic will be 31 years old, but he may still be the most commercially valuable player on the US team, possibly second only to Diego Luna.

Of course, Luna was originally considered one of the poster characters for the 2026 US team, but he didn't even make the final 26-man roster announced by Mauricio Pochettino, which caused another embarrassing blunder for the marketing company.

However, whether Pulisic can stage a comeback remains to be seen. Advertising copywriter Ernest Lupinac believes his value to major advertisers is now quite low.

Lupinac, who has written ads for Nike and ESPN, is an expert in player marketing. He told FOS, "Some people are born great, some become great through hard work, and some are chosen by greatness."

"But clearly, none of these people are named Christian Pulisic."
