According to Milan News, the Mexican striker also firmly denied that Mexico's performance at the World Cup was a "failure," stating that they are proud to be a member of the world's top ten teams. Furthermore, Jimenez expressed his full support for Rafa Márquez's appointment as the new coach, refuting media accusations that Márquez was too assertive, saying he was simply introverted.
When asked about his ankle, Jimenez said, "Very good, thank God. My ankle is getting better." When asked about the numerous humorous images circulating on social media after his injury, he laughed and said, "Yes, they're quite funny." Regarding criticism of his poor World Cup performance and injury, Jimenez responded, "No, we played a very good World Cup. I think we can leave with pride because we gave everything on the pitch. This World Cup was great, especially because I think people came together..." When asked if reaching the round of 16 meant anything, he said, "Yes, absolutely.
