After Argentina advanced to the World Cup final, Lisandro Martinez and Romero gave an interview to DSports, responding to comments made by England legend Gary Neville before the match.

Lisandro Martinez began by saying, "We're used to them talking about us all the time, and it seems they enjoy it. We respond with our performance on the pitch, and always with respect."

Romero added: "My only hope is that when I retire, I won't be so foolish. It's a personal matter, but I hope I won't criticize any player or anyone, because ultimately everyone takes the field to do their best for their club and country."

“We are delighted to have reached the World Cup final again. I think we are making history. It is a huge achievement for us. We feel the meaning of this jersey more than anyone else. We are happy to make history with this national team.”

Before this semi-final, Neville said: "Argentina has two center-backs who can gift every game. I call them the 'best and worst' center-back pairing in the world because they can be impeccable at times, but then fall from grace and become absurd the next second. They can play world-class for 80 minutes, and then suddenly go cold, leading to outrageous mistakes."
