In a post-match interview, Enzo said that his goal in the semi-final was a gift from God, and admitted that he had not been able to find his best form in this World Cup.
Speaking about the goal, Enzo revealed that he had a premonition before the match. "I woke up in the morning feeling that I would score today, and thank God, it really happened. I thank God for giving me this moment, all the glory belongs to Him." He also mentioned that he had tried similar shots many times before, "I controlled the ball and then shot, I had practiced it many times before."
Enzo admitted that apart from this match, he hadn't had much luck on a personal level during this World Cup: "I couldn't find myself in the previous matches and didn't play comfortably. Today, God gave me this wonderful opportunity to score for my country in the semi-final. I'm so happy, this ecstasy is indescribable. Seeing the Argentine fans in the stands, and imagining the people back home cheering for us and shedding tears of excitement, only God could give me all of this, and I am so grateful."
When asked about his goal against Mexico in the 2014 World Cup, Enzo spoke about his family. "I was thinking of my son Benha, who was making those funny videos at home. After the game, I contacted my kids and wife, and they hugged me and cried. The kids didn't quite understand the significance of the game and the achievement. Seeing them in the stands was a huge emotional experience for me, and I'm really lucky to have these moments that football has given me."
Finally, Enzo said, "We're going to New York for the finals, and everyone will give it their all."
