According to a survey by the Spanish media outlet Marca, global fans favor Spain ahead of the World Cup final, with Argentina set to face Spain at Metropolitan Life Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday.

More than 20,000 people participated in the vote, first stating their continent and then selecting the team they would support in the final.

To ensure data reliability, Marca verified participants' IP addresses to confirm their geographical location, a practice intended to reflect preferences across continents. However, Marca also acknowledged that its Iberian background could influence respondents' choices, thus limiting the global representativeness of the survey.

The results showed that Spain had the upper hand in support across all continents: 72% to 28% in North America and 59% to 41% in South America.

In Asia, the vote was 82% to 18%, and in Africa, it was 88% to 12%. In Europe, Spain led Argentina with 53% of the vote compared to Argentina's 47%; in Oceania, Spain led the "Tango Army" with 86% to 14%.

Spain previously defeated France 2-0 in the semi-finals, while Argentina narrowly beat England 2-1 in the same stage.
