Warnock: Tuchel doesn't use Menu? He might be worried that if Menu plays well, it will make him look foolish.

Neil Warnock believes that Tuchel's use of Menu at this summer's World Cup was problematic.

Warnock said on Saturday morning on the “Weekend Sports Breakfast” program that Menu was exactly the midfielder Tuchel needed in the final stages of England’s 2-1 loss to Argentina.

Warnock said, "It would be interesting to see if Tuchel will start Menu."

"He's the kind of player you need most in the last 25 minutes because he's mobile, can protect the ball, and can dribble forward."

Warnock then criticized Tuchel's handling of the Manchester United player. He said, "Tuchel said Menu wasn't training well enough, but you shouldn't say that to the media; you should tell the player directly. You should have put your arm around him and said, 'Listen, kid, you haven't been training very well. Can you pick up the pace?'"

"This is completely unfair. This kind of thing should be left to the team, and it should be discussed one-on-one with the players."

"What if we put him on now, and he plays a brilliant game, making Tuchel look stupid?"

"Or is he simply not letting him play, so as not to let him actually perform well?"

“I don’t think he’ll play him, but listen, he should. Everyone deserves a chance, doesn’t he?”
