According to the Spanish Football Federation, the celebrations following Spain's victory in the 2026 World Cup will begin approximately one hour later than originally planned. Thousands of fans are waiting to welcome the newly crowned world champions due to the team's delayed arrival in Madrid.
The Spanish national team's flight landed at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport at approximately 2:30 PM, later than the scheduled 12:50 PM. Upon arrival, the team members had lunch together before continuing their official schedule.
A delegation led by Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Luzan, national team coach Luis de la Fuente, and captain Rodrigo Hernandez will travel to Zarzuela Palace at approximately 5:30 PM to receive a royal audience.
Before heading to the tour, I was interviewed at the Moncloa Palace.
Following their activities at the Zarzuela Palace, the Spanish team will proceed to the Moncloa Palace to meet with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Sánchez, along with members of the royal family, watched Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final at Metropolitan Life Stadium in New Jersey this Sunday, with Ferran Torres scoring the winning goal in extra time.
Following the official reception, the Spanish team will parade through the streets of Madrid in an open-top bus, accompanied by thousands of fans. The parade will begin at 7 PM, starting from Moncloa Palace, and passing through Principa, Alberto Aguilera, Carranza, Sagasta, Genoa, Goya, Serrano, Independence Square, Puerta Alcalá, and Via Alfonso XII, ending on Via Montalbán near the Palace of Sebelius.
Following this, the main celebration ceremony will be held there, where the players will officially meet the fans, and there will be several musical performances.
