Miami coach: What Messi and De Paul need most right now is rest and time with their families.

Before training this week, Inter Miami coach Guillermo Oyos spoke to the media about the situations of Messi and De Paul.

Messi and De Paul were the only two MLS players to qualify for the World Cup final, but Argentina lost 0-1 to Spain. However, neither of them flew back to Argentina with their teammates, while most of the Argentine national team players flew back together.

Two days after losing the final to Spain, Messi flew back to his hometown of Rosario on a private jet. According to local media reports, he will spend a few days vacationing there with his family before joining Inter Miami for training.

The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPro) requires players to have 21 days of rest after each season ends, but it is unclear whether this rule applies to MLS, which started before the World Cup, or whether players will take advantage of it.
