After failing to lift the championship trophy, Argentine international Lisandro Martinez posted a long article on his personal social media, expressing his regret and pride, thanking the fans who supported the team, and congratulating the champions, Spain.

Lima said: "I am deeply saddened that I could not bring back the trophy that we all longed for. But at the same time, I am incredibly proud of this jersey, my teammates, the coaching staff, the management, the medical team, the chefs, the kit manager, and everyone who worked to ensure that everything ran smoothly."
Most importantly, I am proud of you. You have given us all your love and strength, and shown the passion that best represents us, as well as the unity of our nation. I hope this unity will last forever.
I congratulate Spain; they deserve this championship. I also want to say to our people that the final result cannot define our journey. We overcame adversity and made the seemingly impossible a reality. We never looked for excuses, only reasons to keep going.
We defend our colors, and everything we do goes far beyond the stadium. We've shared countless unforgettable moments with our families and the national team, and we've always received the unconditional support of all Argentinians. It has always been a tremendous pride to represent you. Remember: 'The fall of the great is the joy of the mediocre.' Thank you so much. Let's protect our country. I love you, Argentina!"
