Liverpool are looking to sign a winger and have inquired about the transfer terms for Monaco star Akliusz.

Liverpool target Akliusz is reportedly learning English, and the Monaco player is open to a move to the Premier League. The Reds have already inquired about the 24-year-old with Ligue 1 clubs as the club works to strengthen its attack.

The Liverpool Echo understands that Liverpool contacted Monaco earlier in the transfer window, assessing the market and confirming whether the French international was available for sale. Paris Saint-Germain, competing with Liverpool for RB Leipzig winger Jan Diomand, have reportedly had three offers rejected, with their latest bid around £34 million.

According to PA Sports reporter George Sessions, Akliush is open to playing in the Premier League and has been learning English in recent months.

However, Paris Saint-Germain currently lead the race for the winger and are continuing to evaluate the target despite their offer being rejected.

After Spain's World Cup campaign concludes, Muñoz will return to the team, but Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has made it clear that the club must sign a winger this summer.

The 44-year-old manager said: "No, I think it's difficult to give a specific number when the transfer market is open. You have to always be open to new options in order to improve the squad."

"In some situations, it's obvious that we need to sign players. For example, we definitely need to sign a winger. But in other situations, we need to analyze the options the market offers, the prices, and how we view our existing players."

It's no secret that Liverpool's intention to find and pursue a winger after Salah's departure.

Liverpool were willing to pay £86 million for Jan Diomande, but the Ivorian winger has expressed his desire to join Paris Saint-Germain, and the transfer has yet to be completed.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have drawn up a shortlist that includes Barkola, Matias Fernandez Pardo and Cologne's Said Elmara.
