COPE Radio: Naranjo criticizes the hunting down of Ferran, saying the Prime Minister and his wife should also be accused of owning multiple properties.

According to COPE radio, commentator Antonio Naranjo criticized the "hunt" surrounding Ferran Torres on his program and compared him to the Spanish Prime Minister's financial situation.

Spain's World Cup victory celebrations have made Ferran Torres, who scored the winning goal, the focus of controversy. During a sports roundtable discussion on Herrera en COPE, commentator Ángel Correas mentioned the controversy surrounding Torres wearing a hat that read "Make Spain Great Again," which some groups interpreted as "defending the MAGA movement."

Guest Carmen Martínez de Castro criticized the “particularly harsh criticism” leveled against Ferran Torres. She also mentioned that “this person from Compromís accused him of being a real estate speculator.” In Martínez de Castro’s view, ultimately, “some people are very uncomfortable with Spain winning the World Cup,” and she believes these people are “mentally unbalanced.”

The commentator stated that these people, who initially hoped for Spain's defeat, are now focusing their criticism on Ferran, the symbol of victory. She defended Ferran, saying, "He can think whatever he wants, wear whatever hat he wants, do whatever he wants with his money, and invest where he wants, without politicians pointing fingers at him."

Criticism of "double standards"

The most forceful analysis comes from commentator Antonio Naranjo, who criticizes the government and certain political parties for applying "double standards." Naranjo questions why the focus of discussion is on "how the man who brought us the World Cup with his goal celebrates," simply because he carries "a flag and a cross," while other serious incidents go unreproached.

On this point, he criticized, "In Basque or Navarre institutions, some political parties refused to welcome the players and refused to condemn the serious physical attacks on minors, soldiers, and many others simply for celebrating Spain's victory." Naranjo's stance was clear: "How can the government remain silent about all this while inciting a hunt for Ferran Torres?"

Naranjo further directly responded to accusations that Ferran was a "multi-property owner." He asserted, "If they want to label someone as a multi-property owner, then label the Spanish Prime Minister and his wife, because part of their wealth also came from his father-in-law's sex and entertainment businesses."

According to Naranjo, there's only one reason for all this. He stated, "They probably really like a diverse Spain, provided there are no Spaniards in it. The hunt for this guy is purely for that reason; they suddenly discovered there's a player in the Spanish national team who loves Spain." He concluded sarcastically, "What a revolutionary."
