Agbonlahor: I wouldn't be surprised if Grealish moves to another European league.

Former Aston Villa striker Agbonlahor said that even though Grealish only joined Everton a year ago, his move to another European league "would not be surprising."

Grealish is currently at a crossroads in his career. Returning to Manchester City after a season-long loan spell at Everton, he needs to prove himself to new manager Maresca, who succeeds Guardiola after a ten-year tenure.

The 30-year-old Grealish joined Everton hoping to earn a place in England's World Cup squad. He had a good start for Everton, providing four assists in his first three league games, but suffered a stress fracture in his foot on January 18 against his former club Aston Villa, subsequently undergoing surgery and ending his season.

Now that he's back at Manchester City, if he can't convince Maresca that he still has a future, Grealish may have to consider leaving.

Agbonlahor: I don't think Grealish will stay in the Premier League.

Agbonlahor, who was teammates with Grealish at Aston Villa, said on talkSPORT's "Breakfast Show" that he doesn't think the attacking midfielder will stay at the Etihad Stadium.

“It will be interesting to see how Grealish fares. Will Maresca give him a chance? He was part of the Manchester City coaching staff and knows Grealish. Or the coach might think 'no,' and Grealish might think 'maybe I should leave.'”

“I think it’s too early now. What will happen in the next six weeks? There are still six weeks until the transfer window closes… I don’t think he will stay at Manchester City. I think he will leave.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if he transfers to another league in Europe; I don’t think he will stay in the Premier League.”

“He has one year left on his contract and a high salary, which could be a problem for Premier League clubs. But we can’t rule out the possibility of him returning to Everton, as Moyes likes him very much.”

Since joining Manchester City, Grealish has made 157 appearances, contributing 17 goals and 23 assists, winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one Champions League title, and one Club World Cup. However, his final season at City ended in disappointment – Guardiola opted to replace him with young midfielder Echeverri in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace, ultimately leading to City's defeat. Furthermore, Grealish was not included in the matchday squad for the final game of the 2024-25 season against Fulham.
