On July 23 local time, the Colombian Football Federation officially announced the contract extension of head coach Giovanni Lorenzo. Lorenzo led Colombia to the Round of 16 in the recently concluded World Cup.

Following a meeting in Bogota on Thursday (July 23), the executive committee of the Colombian Football Federation announced the contract extension with Colombian national men's football team head coach Jorge Lorenzo.
Coach Lourenço has been in charge of the national team since 2022. During his tenure, he led the team to a 28-game unbeaten run, a runner-up finish at the 2024 Copa America, and qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
As the national team coach, this Argentine coach has managed 51 matches (including official matches and friendlies), achieving a record of 31 wins, 12 draws, and 8 losses.
With this contract extension, the Colombian Football Federation reaffirmed its strong support for the sport led by the national team coach.
