After participating in the 2026 World Cup, Senesi returned to his birthplace, Concordia, where he received a warm welcome from the local people. During the event, the center-back was honored by thousands of people.
First, the Concordia city government posted a message on its social media inviting residents to welcome Senesi this Thursday afternoon: "When one of our compatriots returns in triumph, the whole city will come out to greet him. Marcos has returned to his hometown, and we hope to welcome him with everyone, hold a party to celebrate his career, and celebrate that Concordia has the first player to represent the Argentine national team in the World Cup, which makes us incredibly proud."
"This will be a moment for our entire community to welcome him, to thank him for his hard work, dedication, and humility on the world's highest stage of football representing Concordia. Please bring your Argentine flag, wear your national team jersey, and come with your family. Let's support our pride together. Senesi appeared in front of the city hall. He arrived Wednesday night but was not overly disturbed by family and friends. On Thursday, large numbers of fans took to the streets to welcome the defender.
Senesi said: "Obviously, I'm very happy that everyone could come. I never thought I would experience something like this, to return to my hometown and receive such a welcome. It's incredible, and I sincerely thank everyone for coming. Members of our national team have seen the celebrations at Concordia University and throughout Argentina, and it has deeply touched us. It's wonderful. As a part of this community, seeing my hometown celebrate like this is priceless to me."
