The Korea Football Association has initiated the election process for its president and is publicly recruiting an interim head coach for the national team.

The Korea Football Association has initiated the election process for its next president and approved the open recruitment of interim head coach and coaching staff for the men's national team.

The Korea Football Association held its 6th board meeting on the 24th at the Jongno-gu Football Hall in Seoul, where it voted to approve key resolutions including the election of the next president, the formation of the operations committee, and the selection procedures for the interim head coach and coaching staff of the men's national football team.

This council meeting was the first held under the acting leadership of Lee Yong-soo. The Korea Football Association, in accordance with the revised Korean Sport & Olympic Committee bylaws and regulations governing the election of the association's president, reported on the procedures for holding the future election and approved the composition of the election operations committee.

According to election management regulations, when the position of president is vacant, an election operations committee must be established within 20 days of the resignation. This committee was approved on the same day. The committee consists of election management experts and external individuals recommended from academia, the legal profession, and the media.

The election and operation committee will officially begin its work after the procedures for amending the association's articles of association and the regulations for the election of the president are completed and the election day for the president is determined.

The association plans to carefully study the FIFA statutes, the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee statutes and regulations for member sports groups, as well as the matters discussed by the "K-Football Reform Committee," to promote the expansion of the electoral college and the establishment of an electoral system. Subsequently, the statutes and regulations for the election and management of the president will be finalized through a supplementary council and general assembly.

The selection process for the interim head coach of the men's national football team was also approved at the board meeting that day. In accordance with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's "Regulations on the Selection and Operation of National Teams," the association decided to select the interim head coach and coaching staff through an open recruitment process.

This open recruitment will be conducted as a team recruitment, with the head coach and coaching staff bound together. Applicants must possess domestic or international qualifications and will serve until the FIFA A-level match window in November. Specific schedules and conditions will be announced separately later.

The proposed increase in training subsidies for national team players at all levels has also been approved. Accordingly, the training subsidies for both men's and women's national team players will increase from the current 100,000 won per day to 200,000 won per day, a 100% increase.

According to the Korea Football Association, acting chairman Lee Yong-soo stated, "In order to quickly normalize the association and restore trust both internally and externally, the bills approved today will be implemented as soon as possible in accordance with legal and procedural standards."
