This 15-year-old became a focal point of Manchester United's youth academy last season with a staggering 29 goals in all competitions, including the Premier League U18 and the FA Youth Cup.

On Thursday, Carrick included Gabriel in the 25-man squad for the trip to Trondheim. He was the only replacement for Ethan Whitley in the squad that went to Helsinki last week, but Gabriel did not get a chance to play in the Red Devils' 5-0 victory.

Although fans were disappointed by his absence, Gabriel seemed unfazed. The striker posted a picture of his jersey in the Manchester United dressing room on social media, captioned with the same word, "Patience."

Expectations for this young player are understandable, but Manchester United will carefully plan Gabriel's development path. He may still get playing time in the upcoming preseason friendlies, but if Carrick believes he is ready, his first-team debut is more likely to be in a cup competition.

For him, the more important significance of this trip to Trondheim might be the opportunity to spend more time and communicate with some of the senior players in the team, rather than making his first-team debut.

Manchester United unleashed their full attacking force against Rosenborg, with Shea Laysie opening the scoring just after the 30th minute. Zirkzee added a brilliant second goal, followed by a large-scale substitution in the 60th minute.

Goals from academy stars Jacob Dewane, Harry Armas, and Ethan Williams further extended the lead, sealing a perfect end to Manchester United's excellent performance. The entire squad will now return to their Carrington training ground to continue preparations for the new season. Their next test will come on Saturday, August 1st, when the Red Devils travel to Sweden to face Atletico Madrid.

With many first-team players still recovering from their World Cup campaign and unable to play, Gabriel is expected to be included in next week's matchday squad.
