“I saw an article that said penguins stay with the same mate for life. I sent it to my wife and told her that if I scored a goal, I would do the penguin celebration,” he recalled. Now, his son Leo and daughter Bella have also become part of the celebration; they imitate their father every time they see him score a goal at home.

“It started as a joke, but now it’s very important to my wife and kids. I have many videos of them doing the penguin gesture. This celebration is dedicated to them; they’ve always been there for me, especially during difficult times,” he explained.

Seeing your child suffer is one of the hardest things in life," he confessed. Afterward, the player decided to use his fame to advocate for autism and help families facing similar situations.

“I’m glad this exposure can help more people and encourage the establishment of more support centers. This experience has taught me to look at things the right way and to understand what my real priorities in life are.”
